“Let God Do It”
Dear Believer(s):
As Christians one of the biggest mistakes we make is when we try to do things instead of allowing God to do things His Way. What do you mean Pastor Oglesby? God has His own specific way of doing things. Many of God’s people most of the time act, move, and think in the natural or flesh. We live and walk in our soulish realm. We are governed by our minds, will, and emotions.
When Adam and Eve fell into sin in the Garden of Eden, man elevated his soul over his spirit, and the spirit of man became smothered or subdued by his soulish realm – his mind, will, and emotions. As a result, mankind lost the spiritual connection with God.
But when you and I received Jesus as our Savior and were born again by the Holy Spirit, our spirits became fully alive to God as He originally intended for them to be. At that time the Holy Spirit began to assist our spirits in taking their rightful place as the head or master over our souls (mind, will, and emotions).
Even after you’re born again, your body and soul can easily get into competition with your spirit for control. The natural mind cannot understand or figure out the things of God. The natural mind is fleshly thinking. The natural mind cannot understand spiritual things. John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
The Bible tells us in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” We are destroyed by the devil because we do not know, believe and trust the Word of God. We often times reject God’s Word by following the lies of the devil, following our natural minds, our will, or emotions. Letting our five senses lead us, being bound by fear and listening and following the advice of an unsaved person.
I want to share a story found in 2Samuel 5:17-25 of how David asked God should he attack the Philistines. I will just give you an overview, but read the entire story during your Bible Study Time. 2Samuel 5:17-25 tells us, the Philistines came against David after he became King of Israel. In the first attack against David, he asks God what he should do. He followed the advice of God and defeated the Philistines.
Sometime later, the Philistines came back to fight David again. David again asked the Lord what he should do. This time the Lord gave David a different strategy for fighting the enemy. David followed God’s advice and defeated the Philistines a second time. Reading this story we see that David sought the advice of the Lord both times his enemies came against him.

We can learn from what David did. He asked the Lord what he should do both times his enemies came against him. Are you seeking the advice of the Lord? Are you allowing God to handle the problem you are facing? Many times when the devil attacks us or we are faced with life’s problems, we try to handle them ourselves. We make big mistakes, we often experience set-backs and there are times when we are defeated. Why? Because we did not allow God to work out the problem; we move in the flesh or in our human thinking and not in the Spirit. Let God do it. We must learn to do things God’s way. We must let God do it. We must allow the Spirit to control, lead and guide us. When we do, we will accomplish God’s will for our lives. We will be blessed by God and receive His promises. We will have His Divine Protection over our lives. When God is guiding us we will have victory in our fight with the enemy.
In the Book of 2Chronicles Chapters 19 & 20, Read this story during your Bible Study time. I am going to give you an overview of the story of How God saved the Israelites who were outnumbered by the enemy 100 to one. The King was afraid and was concerned that all of the people of his kingdom would be killed including all the children.
In 2Chronicles Chapters 19 & 20, we find a King by the name of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was King of Judah. He was a good King, a godly King. Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, but he often traveled throughout the kingdom. He talked with people and convinced them to turn back to the Lord God and worship Him. He assigned judges and told them to make righteous decisions, honor God, and do not take bribes or be unfair.
Jehoshaphat also chose Levites, Priests, family members, and he told them to faithfully serve the Lord. You must settle cases, warn the people to stop sinning against the Lord, so that He will not get angry and punish Judah. He wanted the people of his kingdom to faithfully serve God.
But as sure as we serve God and are faithful to Him, and try to do what is right, the devil will attack us. Jehoshaphat finds out all at once, that there are three enemy armies camped outside the city ready to attack. He is greatly outnumbered. (Listen to this) Jehoshaphat When he gets the news-he fears! But look what he does next. He seeks the Lord. Jehoshaphat’s fear led him to seek God for help. Lord, what do I do? We must let go, and let God do it. We must let God show us the way. No matter what the problem is. Because we have given our lives to God, everything He has, Love, Abundance, Healing, Forgiveness, Deliverance, Comfort, Joy, Peace, Wisdom, and Provision for our daily needs in life, all of these things belong to us through Christ because we are saved.
Read the prayer that Jehoshaphat prayed to God for help, 2Chronicles Chapter 20, verses 3-16. This is what it says, “And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? 8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, 9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
-3-
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.13 And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
The battle is not ours; it is the Lord’s Battle. Read the story. King Jehoshaphat’s Army did not have to fight. The Lord told him to put singers in front of his men and just sing. When the enemy soldiers heard the singers’ voices bouncing off of the mountains, they thought that Jehoshaphat had hired hundreds of thousands of soldiers to fight against them. The three enemy armies turned on each other and killed each other. Let God do it.
The Bible says in Psalm 34:19, many are the afflictions of the righteous. (Who are the righteous? You and I, we are God’s children. The born-again, the saved) the scripture continues – but the Lord delivereth (Who does the delivering-the Lord!)-The rest of the scripture – But the Lord delivereth Him (her) out of them all. God does not deliver us out of one or two or three or four problems. He delivereth us out of them all.
We must not be ruled by our minds, will or emotions. We must be ruled by the Spirit of God in us. Let God do it.
God has His way of doing things. When we face problems, troubles, trials, and life’s difficulties, let God help us.
God is omniscient, which means He is all knowing. God is omnipotent, which means He is all powerful. God is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere at the same time. God loves us. Let God do it His way!
Let us join in prayer; “Dear God, we need You. We need Your Divine Guidance. We need Your Spirit of Love. We cannot have a life of Joy, Peace, and Understanding without You. Lord, help us in spite of our ungodly ways. Redirect our spirits to yield to Your Will and Your Way. This will enable us to have abundance in You. We pray this prayer in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen!”
I greatly appreciate your financial giving and prayers. I need your continued financial help. I am thanking you in advance. “Whatever good you make happen for someone. I will make happen for you.”
