“Our Eternal Father”

Happy Father’s Day

Dear Believer(s):

God is the Father of everyone. No living person can deny that they have a Father. I am not talking about our earthly fathers, but I am reminding you of the Eternal Father.

God is a Father who loves everyone unconditionally. His love is unparalleled. It never ends and it was there from the beginning. All life starts with God, our Father. God’s love is so great that His creatures cannot understand its scope. Who is God? Do you know the Eternal Father? I could never really define who God is, and all that He does but let me share several key attributes of God stated in the Bible.

God is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (everywhere at all times), and omniscient (all wise and knowing). He is eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is referred to as the Trinity (1 John 5:7 &Matthew 28:19).

God is eternal. We live in a world of beginnings and endings. This makes it difficult for us to understand everlasting life. The Bible tells us God was, is, and ever shall be. God is forever. Four times in the Book of Revelation we are told God is the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Revelation 1:8, 11: 21:6, 22:13).

What is God like? “Every good gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). God is a great force, but He is also personal. God has emotions. God loves, read John 3:16. God cares, and he hates (1 Peter 5:7; Romans 9:13).

God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and God never changes. Change is the constant of this world, but not with God. He is, and ever will be as He was, (Hebrews 1:11, 12; 13:8).

God is eternal truth. We know that the devil is a liar and the father of all lies, (John 8:44). But God is a fixed standard by which we can guide our lives. God is the embodiment of all truth. God cannot lie. (Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18).

God is truly our heavenly Father. Forty-eight times from John 14 through John 18 Jesus mentions His Father. Eight times He says, “I go to the Father”. In one of His most famous parables, Jesus lets us see God’s heart by likening Him to the father of the prodigal son. Read Luke 15; 11-32.

The question is how does God become our Eternal Father? God can only be known through Jesus Christ. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Through man’s mental faculties he cannot know God. “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1 Corinthians 1:21). Those who try to know God through any other way but through Jesus rob themselves of truth and block their entrance to the Kingdom of God. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber” (John 10:1).

We did not have a choice in selecting our earthly father, but we all have the opportunity to have God as our Heavenly Father. Is God your Heavenly Father today? As we are about to celebrate our earthly Father’s Day, I invite all who do not know our Eternal Father to become a part of His family.

Salvation is a free gift to you from God. You cannot earn or deserve it (Ephesians 2:8, 9). Salvation comes by the atoning death of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:13, Colossians 1:20). We must repent. We must truly be sorry for our sins and tell God we are (Matthew 3:2). We must come as a humble child to God, not a proud and arrogant “know it all”. We must believe in God, His Son Jesus Christ, and in the power of His forgiveness (Acts 16:30, 31).

There are two very simple steps to take to receive salvation. Step 1, Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. Step 2, Believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead. It is not enough to say, “I love You, Jesus.” We must move on to “believing in our hearts.” That is obeying the commandments of our Christ and desiring Him to take control of our lives.

If you are reading this letter and you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and God is not your eternal Father, you can have God as your Father by saying out loud the following, “I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and I believe in my heart that God hath raised Him from the dead. Amen!” If you have accepted Jesus today, write to me and I will send you a free bible. I also want to help you in your walk with God. I praise God with you, as you are now a member of His family.

I want to thank all of you who have been so faithful in supporting the ministry. I need your continued support to carry forth the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, the hurting and those without hope. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Let us pray, “Dear God, we thank you that we are not alone to deal with the pressures and stresses of the world. We are not alone in handling the attacks of the enemy that come against us. We have the Spirit of Jesus operating in us which enables us to have power, peace, and authority over all the ungodly forces that come against us. We have victory in Jesus. Lord, we surrender all and worship only you. We thank you for all of your blessings and promises that we can receive as we live in obedience to Your Word. We pray this prayer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen!”

Happy Father’s Day,
