“You Are Somebody”
Dear Believer(s):
Do you really know that you are somebody? Do you think that you are somebody?
YOU ARE SOMEBODY! Why is God telling me to tell you this today? Because the devil has lied too many of God’s people and told them that they are nobody. There are people who will tell you that you are nobody, because they judge you by standards of the world. There are times we think we are nobody because of our circumstances. Some family member, friend, teacher, supervisor or even a parent, a husband, a wife or child may have told you, that you are nobody. You will never accomplish anything. You will never make it.
Do you know what you are worth? I am not talking about how much money you have in the bank. I am not talking about your 401K or the property you own. I am not talking about your investments, or your silver or gold.
What is your spiritual worth? Do you know that you are priceless? Are you aware of the price that God paid for you?
You may or may not have thousands of dollars in the bank. You may be struggling to pay your bills or you are on a low paying job. You may have severe pain in your body, and are seemingly going nowhere. You may be hurting on the inside because of the death of a loved one, a family member or friend. You may not have accomplished any goals according to the world’s standards. The world does not define who you are. The religious system does not define who you are. Your power and authority does not define who you are. Your money or social standing does not define who you are. All these systems and things are temporary. The One who is eternal and everlasting determines who you are. When we love, serve, and obey Him, God definitely determines who we are.
The devil may have lied to you. He has told you that you are nothing and that God does not care about you. Right now I want you listen with the ear of the Spirit. GOD PAID THE ULTIMATE PRCE FOR YOU. YOU ARE SOMEBODY. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Look what God has done for us. Look at what God has done for you and what God has done for me. We Are Somebody! God did not pay silver or gold for us. The price that God paid was His Only Son! Jesus died for us. He died so that we are somebody.
God has made it possible for us to be someone in Him. Listen to what God says in Genesis 1:26-27, “26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
God has made us in His image, or His likeness. God has made us in His spiritual likeness. We have the love, joy, peace, forgiveness and the abundance of God. He has given us the power and authority over all that He has created. We are somebody in God. We manifest the goodness of God. We can have good
health, prosperity, wisdom and knowledge in abundance. We love God. We love our neighbor. We love ourselves. We are somebody because we are children of the King. King Jesus!
Let me share what it says in Isaiah 43:1-2, “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
The Lord created us, He formed us, He has called us by our names, and we belong to Him. Praise God! We are somebody because God loves us. We do not have to fear. We do not have to fear man or circumstances. God will protect us. No love is greater than God.
To really be somebody we must know God. We must accept God’s love. How do we accept God’s love? We accept God’s love by accepting God’s Son. We must accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we are truly somebody. We become the image of God. We become a spiritual being made in the image of God. We possess the spiritual qualities of God. We seek to obey God which enables us to operate in the Gifts of the spirit. (1Cortinthians 12)
As we walk daily in obedience to God, we possess the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-26 says, “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Are you somebody in God today? If you are, believe that you can receive all of the benefits that God has for you. What is it that you need from God? Do you need love, joy, and peace? Ask and receive. Do you need Healing? God has provided it for you. Believe! Do you need to overcome fear, doubt, insecurity, or whatever your needs may be? Do you want to be blessed financially? God can and will bless you.
How do you really become somebody in God? How do you receive His blessings and benefits? The key is faith. You must believe. All of the blessings and benefits of God are obtained by faith. God’s promises are conditioned and based upon your faith in Him. To receive you must believe. God has given us faith, we must use it. When we walk in faith, we trust God. When we walk in faith, we obey God and not man. When we walk in obedience to God, we are protected, our dreams can come true and miracles do happen.
When we obey and trust God, He will protect us. And He will perform miracles for us. Let’s look at the Fiery Furnace Incident. Three men had been taken captive and moved to a foreign country. Their spiritual beliefs were not practiced there. But they remembered their godly upbringing and refused to obey the King’s orders and law to worship a false god. They were given more than one chance to obey the heathen King. But they refused to obey him. They stood by their godly teachings and principles. We serve only one God, the true and living God. We are obedient to Him. As a result of refusing to serve the devil, their lives were threatened. (They embarrassed the king or the devil.) They were to be killed by being burned to death in a fiery furnace. They stood on God’s Word. He protected them by sending His Son Jesus to be in the fire with them. They were not alone. Not only did Jesus protect them, He caused their enemies to be defeated and caused all of the people in King Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom to honor the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The last thing that happened…They were blessed. The King promoted them. (Read the story in Daniel Chapter 3.)
Jesus knew that Peter was somebody. Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew Chapter 16) Later Jesus was speaking to His disciples about His suffering and death, Jesus had to rebuke Peter. (Matthew Chapter 16) Peter was walking on water with Jesus when he lost his faith. (Matthew Chapter 14) Peter denied that he knew Jesus three times. (Matthew Chapter 26) But Jesus did not give up on Peter. Jesus knew that in spite of these
things, what Peter would become. He would become someone who would be a yielded vessel for God. God wants you to be somebody in Him. He can open doors for you. He can remove the barriers that hold you back. He can give you a new start; A new career, help you to overcome debt, meet your every need; Defeat the spirits that come from the devil that tell you, you are not going to make it. It Is Too Late! He enables you to overcome the mistakes of your past. He allows you to accomplish your dreams and goals.
You can overcome disappointments, losses of all types; He restores what has been stolen, physically, financially, materially or spiritually. How can all of these things happen? God tells us how and God cannot and does not lie. Here is what God says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) The Spirit of Christ Jesus in you gives you the blessings, the miracles and His Promises. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6) We cannot do it ourselves the Power of God in us; His Power/Spirit in us gives us the desires of our heart when we allow His Spirit to lead us. In other words, our obedience to God blesses us with all good things. “Because greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world.” (1John 4:4) The Power of God in you or me allows us to take authority over the works of the devil. We can defeat/destroy all the evil that comes against us to stop us from receiving the bountiful blessings of God.
Listen, when God puts a dream in your heart or when God tells you, you are somebody. When He tells you, you are to accomplish a specific goal or He has ordained you to do or represent Him in a highly specialized field; you are somebody no matter how difficult it may seem.
Do Not Allow Anyone To Steal Your Dream or Goal. Don’t allow the devil, don’t allow a two legged representative of the devil to steal Your Miracle.
Listen to this very important scripture 2Cortinthians 11:13-15, “13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Don’t be robbed by an angel of the devil.
Don’t give up on your son or daughter’s dream. Don’t give up on your personal dream. Be obedient to God and let Him bring it to pass.
You are somebody! You are a son or daughter of God, with His Spirit directing you. Believe, walk in obedience to God and receive what you need. Because You Are Somebody in God’s sight.
Let us pray. “Father God, we thank You that we are Somebody in You. As we love You, and obey You, we will receive all of the bountiful blessings that You have promised in Your Word. We pray this prayer in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen!”
