“Who Else But Jesus Part I”
Dear Believer (s):
Today people who are sinners and even many of God’s people seem to live in a world that is rapidly moving away from godly principals.
Look at the current condition of our nation and around the world. The shifting sands of political and financial institutions, problems within our religious system, divisiveness among races, the increase in the cost of living, problems in housing, working environments have changed, unusual wildfires that are affecting our health, unnerving news on social media, loss of life caused by waring nations, and the ungodly nature of people is causing far-reaching effects. Instability, violence, distrust, and uncertainty.
The dangers are getting worse, and the cauldron seems to get hotter and larger every day. These flames threaten to destroy everything we hold near and dear, far beyond anything we can imagine. We worry. We become bound by fear, doubt, and unbelief.
Who can save us, deliver us, and bring us back to God? Who else but Jesus!
Who can keep us from destroying ourselves or keep the devil from destroying us. Who can turn the hearts of men and women back to God? Who can remove the hate from our hearts and replace it with godly love? Who else but Jesus! Who can give us the peace, wisdom, knowledge, joy, security, prosperity, and good health that God wants us to have? Who else but Jesus!
Who can truly enlighten us about God; and confirm to us who He is, and what He has done? Who else can show us God’s Power and His Authority over all things.
Today, I want to talk about my Jesus, and your Jesus. I want to talk to you about a man who has accomplished all things. In John Chapter 17:4, Jesus was praying to the Father and He said, “I have brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you gave me to do.” (CEV)
Man was created in the image or likeness of God. Man was God’s masterpiece. Man’s sinful nature led him away from God when Adam and Eve fell into sin in the Garden of Eden, man elevated his soul over his spirit, and the spirit of man became subdued by his soulish realm (his mind, will, emotions and intellect). As a result, mankind lost his spiritual connection with God. He was no longer in the likeness of God as God created him. With man’s fall came the necessity for him to be redeemed, also all who would descend from him would be redeemed. Man needed a Saviour, the second Adam, who redeemed us from sin. Our Saviour brought us salvation. He delivered us from disease, poverty, fear, and even death. Our Saviour has given us love, faith, hope, joy, peace, and prosperity. Who did God choose as our Saviour? Who else but Jesus? God made a way for man to be brought back to Him. The way for man to be forgiven of sins and to be brought back to God is by accepting who else but Jesus, as his personal Saviour. John 14:6 states, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (KJV)
The birth of Jesus changed the life of mankind. His Birth gave man a Savior, a way to be delivered from death, the opportunity to repent, to again have God’s Spirit live in him, the ability to communicate with God, to have the presence of God in his life, and the ability to become sons and daughters of God. God can lead us, and His Spirit can live in us. God’s power can be channeled through us to do exploits or mighty works for God. God is our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.
God had His Son birthed or born of a virgin. The virgin birth staggers natural man. He cannot understand the process nor purpose of such an unusual event. However, the virgin birth of Jesus is an integral part of the doctrine of the pouring of divine nature into human flesh. The virgin birth is important because it is a demonstration of the power, wisdom, and love of God, and is necessary that Christ might be sinless. In order to satisfy divine justice, a pure and sinless sacrifice had to be made for our sins. He had to be both human, and divine, yet sinless. Sin was imputed to Adam, and through the paternal side of the race it is legally descended to all men and woman. Had Christ had a human father, His humanity would have been tainted by original sin. It was necessary that He be virgin born. He was the Son of God by His virgin birth, and the Son of man by His earthly mother. Only this way could He qualify as the Saviour of our souls; Who else but Jesus?
Jesus is the Word of Life and He is the Light of the world. It’s so important for us to recognize the authority of Jesus’ Word. Hebrews 11:3 says, “The worlds were framed by the Word of God,” and Hebrews 1:3 tells us, “He upholds all things by the word of His power.” not only is there power in Jesus’ Word, but there’s power over sickness, lack, and every problem that comes against us. Jesus spoke the Word to the centurion’s servant, and he was healed.
Jesus was here from the beginning of time. In John 1:1-4, it states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
Jesus is the Son of God. “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess the Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God” (1John 4:14, 15).
Who else but Jesus died for our sins. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). He came to save me. I was bound by satan, by a church doctrine, and by a religious spirit. Jesus looked into my heart and said, “Thomas needs me.” I was drowning in self righteousness. Who else but Jesus delivered me?
The Roman centurion in Matthew, Chapter 8, received a miracle from the Lord because he understood the authority Jesus has over sickness and disease. When he asked the Lord to heal his servant who was sick with the palsy, Jesus agreed to go and heal him. But the centurion replied, it isn’t necessary for You to come If You will only stand here and say, “Be healed, “my servant will get well.” Then he went on to explain, “I have authority over my soldiers. When I say to one, “Go.” He goes, and to another, “Come.” He comes” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, I know you have the authority to speak the Word and sickness has to go!” When we speak God’s Word in faith and walk in obedience to Him His power can be released in our lives. Praise God!
Let us pray. “Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the love, joy, and peace that You manifest in our spirits. Let all people of all races, creeds and color repent of their sins and accept Your Son Jesus as their personal Saviour. Lord, strengthen all of us who are already saved so that we will truly love You, and be totally obedient to You. We pray for those who are hurting, the lost, the sick, and the elderly. We pray for those who are economically depressed, the abused, and those who once walked with You but now are in love with satan and his ways. We pray for our country, its leaders and for our families’, churches, young people, and children. Lord, in a world where there seems to be trouble all around us, let us not forget that You are God, and You are more than capable of protecting us. We give You thanks and praise! We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen!”
I need your help. So please ask God regarding your giving to this ministry. Your giving enables me to reach souls for God. No amount is too small. I remind you of what it says in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” When you sow seeds into this ministry, I know that you will be blessed.
With Love, Thanks, and Prayers
Thomas Oglesby
